Calm and stable A priest, a doctor and an engineer went golfing. The group playing the holes before them was incredibly slow, and this bothered them no end. When they finished their game, they returned their golfcart to the clubhouse and asked the manager about the slow group.

"Oh, they are a group of firefighters who damaged their eyes," the manager said. "Their eyes are really sensitive, so it takes them a while to work with the holes."

"Dear God, I will pray for them," the priest immediately replied.

"Never mind prayer," said the doctor. "I am an ohpthalmologist. I'll check their eyes pro bono."

The engineer gave them a curious look and asked the manager, "Why don't they just play at night?"

The engineer joke should have given you a clue. I have a PhD from an electrical engineering department, apply engineering methods to biological problems.

I moved to Galveston 3 months ago. I like learning and am an avid student of philosophy, literature, neuroscience, astrophysics, politics, and other topics.

I also like yoga, meditation, swimming, tennis, badminton, weight training, walking and other physical activities. Free time is spent in banter with friends and family, debating politics, philosophy, art, religion, etc. I also enjoy writing a lot - essays, short stories, novels, the whole shebang.

I'd like to find my plus one on here. I hope to find someone who can think, who has a level of emotional intelligence, who is easygoing and who laughs at themselves. Someone who is far from perfect, but just right for me.
