Classy lady, raised well, embarrassed by the popular images of African American women behaving badly that seem to be dominating the media of late. I'm never loud, foul-mouthed, or pugilistic. I own my home, bought it as a single gal years ago, and I'm particularly proud to say, It wasn't taken from someone in a divorce. I worked in the field of Social Work /Behavioral Sciences for many years, I've been well respected for my skills by colleagues but really needing to finish my education in a formal way. I graduated this May from Washburn U. with a Bachelor Integrated Studies degree-BIS ( Advocacy Sociology and legal Studies) I'm Seeking that apparently elusive, and rare quality--Integrity. I'm looking for my equal/complement, intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally. I'm looking for that one great friendship with a man that grows into being the love of my life, and with whom I will grow old. I have one (well adjusted)bi-racial pre-teen child and no ex-husband drama. I'm assertive, kind, communicative, outgoing, tastefully stylish, and a lead vocalist in a nationally recognized formal band. Character, spirituality and emotional growth are important to me. While I don't mind being "arm candy" It is very important that to me that I be appreciated for who I am apart from how I look, as the best parts of me have nothing to do with the esoteric. If you are a very traditional/conservative Christian we probably would not be a good match. Though I accept Christ's teaching about love. I am not a Christian, as I find Christianity much to narrow in many ways as I also embrace some eastern and metaphysical philosophies. I find very offensive the patriarchal attitudes many Christian men have. My match respects women as his equal. The inequality between the sexes that is built into Christianity offends me, so if you feel the man is the head of the house, or you're looking for a submissive woman, that won't be me. However If you have evolved in your spirituality beyond the need
