Shone Upon I've spent a dozen years playing in rock bands. I stopped playing live 7 years ago when I moved to Portland. I have a cottage w/drumkit, guitars, keyboard into soul(mayfield), afro-cuban(ferrar, segundo), african(kuti, budos) dub(murvin, pablo), alt-rock(sonic youth, royal trux), 70s-psych(CAN, silver apples) biggest writing influences: Can, Royal Trux, Curtis Mayfield, Denis Johnson, Charles Bukowski, Kurt Vonnegut, Bill Hicks, Richard Pryor, Patrick McGoohan, Five Easy Pieces, Jesus Son, Buena Vista Social Club, Paris Texas, Cassavettes (Faces, Opening Night), James Brown. I love to cook most everything with garlic, olive oil, and sea salt. I miss all the Caribbean cafes on the east coast. My favorite dish is Jerk chicken on my wood burning stove. Not crazy about most Portland eats, though I like Laughing Planet. Amnesia Brewing has a nice porter ..but I'd rather stay home with an merlot or cab... Woodford Reserve Bourbon hits the spot. My ideal match apparently would like to rearrange my autonomy; as RW Emerson once said, "foolish consistencies are hobgoblins of tiny minds." and then there's this one: "Rolled-out flat, dreamed into, shone upon." (DJ) ...and wait, wait; 50 bonus points if u are familiar with Bukowski's poem "The Shoelace." I am a minimalist and looking for someone similar. I get consumed in art. Lose track of time. The prolific nature of art from the muse to its exhaustive expression. I enjoy winding down after an intense period of creativity. I've written hundreds of songs over the years. Now I foray into interactive fiction and video. Adaptations. Like turning Kesey or Cormac McCarthy into film.
