I remember hearing people say when I was younger that a relationship was 50/50. It isn't. It is both giving 100% everyday to the life they are making together. It's never going to bed angry even if you have to work the next day. Anything worth having is worth doing your all to make it work and resolve issues before they become so big they can't be solved. nMuch of today is a me- me world full of how much material things you can have. Yes there are material items that you just have to have in order to live your life, but material things don't remember a birthday or hand you a cup of coffee in bed. It's the little things, a glance and smile across the room when you know the one you love has had a rough day. It's covering them with a blanket cuz they fell asleep in their chair their 1st night home and the look so peaceful you just don't have the heart to wake them. It's making the bed in the truck and hanging your person's clothes up in the closet while they fix something in the house last minute because they were the only one who could. It's that note in a pocket of clean jeans that he or she finds when they put them on after their shower on the road and that container of their favorite homemade cookies sitting on the passenger seat when they leave when home time is over far too soon. nit's standing outside on a clear night talking to them on the phone and looking at the moon together, cuz as long as you both can see they moon the miles between you don't seem that far. nwhether you are at home holding down the fort, or riding shotgun, you do what you can to make their job easier because only one who has done the job knows what they got thru and what is on their minds. nMy grandmother told me that it takes a special woman or man to be a trucker's wife or husband. No truer words have I ever heard.
