				| I'm working on a romance story and I need to know about first moves in relationships. There are a lot of sites out there that talk about "the first move" and how to do it or who should do it, but nobody ever says anything about WHAT qualifies as a first move! I get the impression that there isn't one first move, more like there are several. For example, I have come across the following listed as "first move"s:
 holding hands in public
 first kiss
asking the other person out on a date
 saying 'I love you' first
The first time being intimate (I don't plan to do anything in my story with this one, but it is one I have seen listed)

I need to know what else qualifies as a first move. I need to know so I can make the two people in my couple be fairly equal when it comes to making the first move in their relationship. I know that traditionally it's the guy who does all the first moves, but the couple in my story isn't a traditional couple and I want things to be equal between them.

There is also a point in my story where I'm trying to figure out who made the first move. What happens is that one of the people in the couple sends the other person a love letter (which eventually leads to the two of them getting together, though the other person gives their 'answer' to the letter in the form of a kiss). I couldn't find any indication of love letters and whether or not they counted as a first move in a relationship...what does everyone on here think?
