Memories of past betrayals
still lingering in the distance
like a deep, dark fog sneaking in and out of my mind
like clouds blurring my thoughts and affecting the way
I see those around me who want to be close to me, I only see betrayal.
Distorting what I hear when they tell me that they care, I only hear deceit.
I can no longer just feel without fear of betrayal,
laugh without fear of deceit
or cry without fear of judgement.
